This year at school we have started an eco club to make our school a better place and a more eco friendly school.
We come together every friday lunch to share our thoughts and suggestions. we have ( about 5) groups; rubbish,(recycling) power, worm farm, garden and a few more all working on specail parts. My group at the momment is working on "Looking for sponsers" to help allow us to get;
worms, new reycle bins, space for gardens, paint for posters E.T.C. to all help us make our school...

Rich Task term 1 2008
For rich task this term we have been doing science. For science we were doing how to keep liquid hot or how to keep ice cold. Our class was dong how to keep liquid hot we had to design a cup that would have to hold 200mls of about 50digrees of hot water. So we got in to our groups and started brainstorming what materials might be quite affective. For my final cup the materials where an old rag, cotton wool, half a plastic bottle, tinfoil, glad wrap and sticky tape. When we came to the test my starting temp was 45degrees dropping 3 ½ degrees to 41 ½ degrees.
Rich task term one

Art in room 18
This term room 18 has been working on art. What we have done is choose so symbles and icons that represent ourselfs. After we had finshed that we next desingned our symbles and icons in patterns. Then we drew some insects or animals that would end up on a a3 peace of paper face down. Finally we came to drawing on our insect or animal and the all of us had to draw a center peace which could be any where you want it to but in the inside it had to repersent you the most. After that we drew on our pattens(symbles and icons)then coloured in with pastle dyed them choose a coloured peace of paper that will make it stand out then put it up on the wall.

Camp shakespear 2008
Camp this year was the first time for me because I’m a year five but this was a camp I will never forget!
One of my favorite activity’s was the kayaking because I had never done it before so it was quite a challenge and my partner (Anna) helped me really well along the way. Thanks Anna!
A physical and emotional challenge for me was the rock climbing because when I reached the top I was really proud of myself. But then I thought how was I going to get down because it was quite a reach. I felt worried and scared like if the people who where supporting me below let go and I fell. But finally I got down safe and sound!
I supported my friends in the camp concert when they felt a little low or a bit nervous. I encouraged them which made them feel good inside and gave them confidence and it was really nice because that is what they did to me.
The highlights for camp for me would be everything! It taught everyone that relating to others and working as a team is really important!
The challenge I grew though was the mountain boarding. Firstly, because I had never done it before, secondly it was something I could work on and challenge myself and thirdly because it would be something if I ever get a chance I would do again and again!!

Term 2 rich task
This term we are learnig about the human body. The year 5's (which is me) are doing the circulatory system and the year 6's are doing fitness. So far we are we are gathering info about the topics to elp as know what they mean. Here are some iders of what a circulatory system is about;
The circulatory system is responsible for transporting materials throughout the entire body. It transports nutrients, water, and oxygen to your billions of body cells and carries away wastes such as carbon dioxide that body cells produce. It is an amazing highway that travels through your entire body connecting all your body cells.
